Aurora violently jiggled the joystick and swore at the television. Some wench had raped and robbed her while she was reloading. She checked her map. There were too many hostiles approaching for her to pursue the destitute whore without her head getting blown off in the process.
“So, are you gonna tell me or not?” Ruben asked, still piloting the helicopter.
“Hold… on…” Aurora answered, in between bites of the ration bars she’d found in the survival bag under her seat, “I haven’t eaten in almost three days now.” Continue reading
The transport van lumbered over another pothole as it neared the capital. The sun’s low rays crept through the small, caged window, nearly blinding Aurora as she stared lifelessly ahead. Continue reading
Moonlight trickling in through the half-shut blinds, the still silence of Aurora’s apartment evoked a sense of soft serenity until it was broken by a cacophony of shattered metal and wood. I always found the “institution” and the idea behind a community quite interesting.
At its core, a community is a group of people with a common interest or goal. Whether it’s the goal of building a settlement and living together, or a small gathering that occurs from time to time, the community is all about being with other members of your community and accomplishing goals together. The thing that makes these individuals who they are will attract similar individuals.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear: depression sucks. I don’t mean that in an all-encompassing way either. I mean suffering from depression is just that, suffering. It is an unenviable state of being, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
While depression has no cure, there are several treatments available out there, both prescribed and unprescribed. For some, like myself and other self-described otaku, anime has served to heal the gnawing hopelessness we feel on a daily basis. That being said, the tale I’m about to tell is hardly unique; however, it is mine, and I feel like I should share it.
